Galactic Map: Beta Quadrant, Beta Ring, Sector 4

Climate: Temperate forests with frequent rainfall

Terrain: Towering trees, lush undergrowth, interconnected canopy cities

Description:

Belba, known as the world of the Beastfolk, is a verdant paradise of towering forests and majestic trees that rival modern skyscrapers in height and girth. Belba is the ancestral home of the Beastfolk, a diverse civilization of sentient beings with animal-like characteristics. The planet’s dense forests teem with life, from exotic flora and fauna to sprawling canopy cities that blend seamlessly with the natural landscape.

Key Features:

1. Canopy Cities: Scattered throughout Belba are sprawling canopy cities, built atop the branches of towering trees, and connected by a network of crisscrossing bridges and walkways. These cities are bustling hubs of activity, where Beastfolk of all kinds come together to live, work, and play amidst the verdant canopy.

2. Arboreal Dwellings: In addition to the canopy cities, some Beastfolk make their homes in dwellings carved into the interiors of certain trees. These dwellings are carefully crafted to minimize harm to the trees, with only certain kinds of trees being suitable for carving without endangering their lives. Inside these arboreal dwellings, Beastfolk live in harmony with the natural world, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the forest.

3. Sacred Groves: Throughout Belba there are scattered sacred groves, revered by the Beastfolk as places of spiritual significance and natural beauty. These groves serve as gathering places for rituals and ceremonies, where Beastfolk come together to honor the spirits of the land and commune with the ancient wisdom of the forest.

Belba is a distinctly green, rocky planet with a nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere and a variety of environments with differing climates, but mainly covered in immense forests.

Beastfolk tend to build their major habitations near coasts and along rivers, but have spread their dwellings to encompass practically all land masses as well as some aquatic based homes, towns and cities.

Belba is noted for its rustic nature and its dwellings carved from trees and stone, but its modern cities are modeled after Elven culture.

Belba’s Capital City is Furcifer, in the Country of Yokai.
